Plus crypto regulation, open-source AI, and more…
Upcoming Crypto Event: Join us next Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET for a talk on crypto regulation with Paul Grewal of Coinbase. This will be the fourth installment of our “Tech in the Courts” virtual series, co-hosted with Washington Legal Foundation. The event was mentioned in this week’s GWU Regulation Digest.
Section 230: We filed an amicus brief urging the Third Circuit to grant full-court review of a panel decision finding that Section 230 does not protect algorithmic recommendations. AI: Andy will speak at the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee’s (NAIAC) open meeting about the benefits of open-source AI and the need to avoid excessive restrictions. For more, check out our comments on the NIST draft AI safety guidelines.
Administrative Law: The nondelegation doctrine is about to return to the Supreme Court. You heard it here first: this is going to be a big deal. Get informed by reading Corbin’s latest Substack piece.
First Amendment: Ari was a guest at the Council of State Governments’ (CSG) 2024 Policy Masterclass, where his panel examined the current landscape of social media legislation and discussed the constitutional challenges to age verification.
